A sweet and fruity tea, very fragrant and suitable for people who like fruity teas. This tea is great for any occasion, and is the most famous among the Five Golden Blends from the Tea Centre of Sweden. It is very popular in Japan and several other countries outside Sweden, and is exported in large quantities.
Background: One day in 1979, Vernon Mauris, the founder of the Tea Centre of Stockholm was trying new blends. By mistake, a new ingredient fell down into the mix. Since Mr. Mauris was unwilling to spoil such a good tea, he tried the blend. It was not that bad, and somewhat refined, he started selling it as “Mistake Blend”. Later, the name was changed into Söderblandning, the Blend of South Stockholm, in honour of the area of the shop.
New serving tip:
Serve with a glass of port. It is a habit that has taken on in Portugal lately.
